Robert Ginnaven

Attorney at Law

My mother and father were actors.  They first met on stage in a Shakespeare production at Front Street Theater in Dad’s hometown of Memphis, where he grew up around Elvis and his inner circle, just across the river from Mom’s farm in Mississippi County, where she learned to sing the blues and country music  from notable locals such as Albert King and Johnny Cash.  Mom and Dad were witnesses to the birth of rock and roll, and me about 9 months after they met.

We moved to Little Rock in 1960 where Dad became an early pioneer in the television industry, first as a weatherman at KATV and later as an advertising creative director, notably producing commercials that resulted in one of Bill Clinton’s only political defeats, causing Clinton to declare himself “the youngest former governor in the history of the country.”  Bob and Ila Ginnaven were instrumental in helping create the Arkansas Arts Center and I had the good fortune of growing up backstage watching them rehearse and perform for enthusiastic crowds thirsting for live theater in a state where our reputation then was keeping our women “barefoot and pregnant.”  It is no wonder that I found my niche as a trial lawyer nearly forty years ago, and have been directing real life drama in the courtrooms of Arkansas ever since.

Dad instilled a work ethic in me at the early age of 13 when I became a paperboy for the Arkansas Gazette.  I have been working hard ever since, staying on at the Gazette downtown taking complaints from folks who didn’t get their morning paper, ushering and popping corn at the Breckenridge Village movie theater during high school, running camera in the production studio at KATV during the summers, and operating the slo-mo instant replay machine during college football and basketball games when Lou Holtz and Eddie Sutton were at the helm.

After graduating from law school I became an Assistant Attorney General handling criminal appeals, followed by cutting my teeth in the courtroom in a bath by fire as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Pulaski County, where I learned how to try a case to a jury, again and again.  Once in private practice I developed experience in complex litigation, including catastrophic personal injury cases from product liability and premises liability, to car wrecks and natural gas explosions.  I am not afraid to sue doctors and lawyers and have held both groups accountable for malpractice.  In the commercial litigation arena I have sued banks for lender liability and insurance companies for fraud.  I despise corruption and learned how to speak truth to power from my mother who had a fiery take-no-prisoners attitude against hypocrites, with a smile.

Since practicing solo for the past twenty years, I am proud to be working with the exceptional team here at the Law Offices of Gary Green.  If you have suffered a serious physical injury or have been the victim of fraud, please call me now for a free consultation.  I look forward to working for you!
