Chrysler recalled roughly 1.2 million trucks last week following several accidents attributed to problems with the steering system. Chrysler reports that 453,000 vehicles in the recalled group may have parts of their steering systems misaligned, and that seven accidents and two injuries associated with this problem have been reported so far.

The following vehicles are among those affected by the recall:

  • roughly 842,400 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks from model years 2003 to 2008;
  • certain Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups from 2008 to 2012;
  • Ram 1500 4×4 Mega Cabs from 2008;
  • and Ram 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs from 2008 to 2012.

More than 180,000 pounds of ready-to-eat salad and sandwich products have been recalled due to possible E. coli contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The products, from Richmond, VA-based Glass Onion Catering, include fully cooked chicken and ham products that were shipped to distribution centers in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington.

E. coli O157:H7, the particular strain associated with the recall, has sickened 26 people in 3 states in recent weeks, and 15 of those 26 people ate products included in the recall.

E. coli O157:H7 is a potentially fatal bacterium that causes dehydration, bloody diarrhea, and abdominal cramps following exposure to the organism. Young children and older adults are most at-risk for exposure.
