Metal-on-Metal Recalls: Stryker’s Not the Only Offender

We’ve been talking about Stryker quite a bit lately, but there are several other manufacturers out there responsible for making faulty metal-on-metal hip implant parts.

We are investigating all cases involving metal-on-metal hip implants, including Stryker, Biomet, DePuy, and Wright Medical.

The metal parts associated with these models can cause metal poisoning, which occurs when friction between the metal parts releases metal ions into the bloodstream. Blood tests for elevated levels of chromium and cobalt have proven positive in affected patients. Some patients also develop pseudo-tumors at the site of the implant.
